Our History

We opened our doors for business in 1995. At that point our trans-loading operation was primarily loading logs into containers.  Since then, Rail Transfer Inc. has been steadily growing. Then, in 2001 Rail Transfer started loading bulk whole grains into containers. We were the first company to do so as a third party service in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market. In 2010, after several successful years of outdoor grain loading, upper management sat down with a team of engineers and the city of St. Paul to work on improving and maximizing efficiency with the newest technologies in container loading. They developed a state of the art, indoor loading system designed specifically for moving bulk agricultural products quickly and efficiently. So, in the spring of 2012, Rail Transfer’s new indoor facility opened, and successfully transformed us into who we are today.
